Are you a cult?
Emphatically no! Despite our spiritual and aethereal themes we are not a high-control religious group. We will never require members of our organization to pledge allegiance to our leaders or ministers. We will never require members to give any of their resources. We do not require that members hold any of the same spiritual beliefs as the organization. In fact one of our highest ideals is to help LGBTQIA+ individuals heal from high-control, manipulative, and abusive spiritual backgrounds and experiences
Why do you use religious language, themes, and imagery in so much of your material?
Part of our mission is to help LGBTQIA+ individuals heal from past religious traumas. Just like in other areas of healing trauma, it is often a powerful tool to rewrite and replace old negative experiences with new healing ones. It is our hope that the content found in the written, creative, and artistic works of The Eternal Connection of the Queer Divine will equip and aide LGBTQIA+ persons in their healing journey
Do you actually believe in or worship the deities mentioned in your content?
Each individual is welcome to engage with our content in whatever ways feel best to them. While some of the work may reflect elements of personal beliefs held by the author, it is not necessary for anyone else to embrace any ideas or beliefs that are not consistent with their own values.
Can atheists join the organization?
Absolutely! There is no requirement to adhere to any religious or spiritual belief to be a part of our organization. We value everyone's experiences, knowledge, and ideas.
Can heterosexual and/or cis-gender people join the organization?
Again, absolutely. While our work and content is boldly and unapologetically focused on LGBTQIA+ identities and experiences, we do not discriminate against anyone on the basis of sexual orientation, gender, gender-identity, sex, race, ethnicity, creed, or any other innate identity or attribute.
Do you work with minors?
At this time ECQD does not work directly with minors. We are happy to provide support to adults or organizations who are involved in the lives of young people by providing resources. Parents of LGBTQIA+ kids who are looking for support are encouraged to contact us and we can discuss your needs and any way that we might be able to support you.
Are my donations to ECQD tax deductible?
We are in the process of obtaining Tax Exempt 503(c) status which will allow donations to be deductible. Until then, any donation given before final Tax Exemption approval will become deductible retroactively. For more questions contact your tax professional
